Vassilis Karantzas - Founder and Managing Director of Upbeat.
A graduate of the National Conservatory of Athens and holder of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Hellenic Open University, he began his journey in the world of tailor-made events as a DJ in 1997, with his first collaboration at the iconic Astir Palace Hotel. Since then, he has curated and executed the sound design for over 1,000 events in Greece and abroad, with regular appearances in London, Istanbul, and Geneva.
Before dedicating himself exclusively to event music design, he worked as a radio producer and maintained regular columns in music magazines for several years, covering trends and developments in the global music scene.
He collaborates with top industry professionals—DJs, artists, bands, sound engineers, and lighting technicians—to ensure flawless execution at every event, regardless of size or style. His strong musical background and extensive experience enable him to cover a broad range of music genres, from mainstream pop, house, and R&B to Latin, rock, soul, funk, and disco.
You’ll find him performing at select bars and restaurants in Athens, as well as at every signature Upbeat event designed to be truly unforgettable.
